September 11, Weekly Newsletter

Dear Clear Lake Families,

I continue to be extremely impressed with our students, teachers, support staff and school community as we all have worked together over the course of the first two weeks of the new school year. Our students have done a remarkable job with adjusting to the new safety procedures and processes. We had our first fire drill of the school year this morning. We are required to conduct emergency safety drills throughout the school year. These include lockdown, fire and tornado drills. Drills will be documented on our school website after the completion of each one. In addition, I will communicate with you when we have conducted a drill so you are aware and prepared to discuss with your child if needed.

Each week I will continue to emphasize the importance of adhering to the Family Pledge, monitoring the health and well-being of your child before sending him/her to school each day. Please commit to checking their temperature daily and error on the side of caution when he/she isn't feeling well. Please note the information in the Clear Lake Connection this week specific to student illnesses as well as how you can help us when calling the attendance line (

We are looking forward to seeing all of our students starting on Monday, September 14th. Please help us with the following upon arrival to the building:

-Pull all the way forward in the student drop-off line. If a car exits the line, please pull forward. We will have double the traffic starting Monday. Your cooperation will go a long way in helping our arrival/dismissal process go smoothly.

-Only have students exit from the passenger side of the automobile. Should you need to exit the car for any reason, please park in the parking lot.

-Please utilize the cross-walk for moving back and forth from the sidewalk to the parking lot.

-Once you have picked up your child/children from school, we ask that you please exit the premises safely and quickly.

-Please continue to wear a mask if you exit your vehicle on school property.

Please enjoy your weekend!

Brad Bigelow, Principal
