November 30, Today

Dear Clear Lake Families,

Thank you for your words of encouragement, your support and your patience as we navigated through such a tragic incident today. My staff and I are so grateful for you and for the support that we will all need moving forward as a community. I am thankful for my staff who handled the tough circumstances with poise and a focus on keeping students safe. We are fully committed to doing all that we can to ensure your children are safe when they enter the doors each morning and will continue to reflect on areas we can improve.

In times like these I wish there was a blueprint for parents in helping us know exactly what to say and how to say it when something tragic happens. I've struggled with this conversation myself this evening with my own children. More than anything, it's turned into giving each other lots of hugs and words of affirmation as we've processed the day.

I know that our district will be in communication with you in the coming days regarding our transition plans for students as they come back to school. In the meantime, please know that I am here. If you need anything, I am here to talk, support you at home, talk with your child or do anything else that you may need.

Please take care!

Brad Bigelow, Principal
