I started my teaching career in Walled Lake as a First Grade teacher. I taught First Grade for five years. I was then hired by Walled Lake to become trained in Reading Recovery and became a Reading Recovery teacher. I taught Reading Recovery in Walled Lake for about seven years. I took some time off to stay home with my children in their younger years, then, was fortunate enough to be hired as a part-time Reading Recovery/Specialist in Oxford. I have been teaching Reading Recovery at Clear Lake for nine years. I believe teaching and education are not one size fits all, and each student brings their own particular brand of genius. I teach with kindness, because students will never forget how you made them feel.
I have been married to my husband, Matt, for 23 years. I have boy/girl twins that are 18 years old. I also have two golden retrievers. In my free time, I love to exercise, doing yoga, boxing, and running. I also love to travel, especially to Florida. I absolutely love the beach!
